The Learning and Talent Development Specialist will work with the business to understand learning needs and facilitate development solutions. Delivery of offerings will include company-wide training, continuing education and leadership classes. The Learning and Talent Development Specialist will be responsible for building strong working relationships with leaders throughout the organization to drive continuous improvement in talent development and learning.

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Diagnose associate and organizational performance issues and learning needs by effectively using the performance gap analysis/learning needs analysis process and tools.
  • Facilitate discovery meetings to confirm business needs and translate those needs into concrete options for learning opportunities.
  • Design and implement innovative strategies around talent management and associate engagement, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Research, design, develop, and deliver assigned content topics in all appropriate formats, including ILT, Virtual ILT, Computer-based Training, and Mobile.
  • Periodic on-stage delivery of training, pilots, premieres, and strategic programs as assigned.Travel may be required.
  • Write concise, creative and effective instruction. Course deliverables include design documents, storyboards, prototypes, instructor and participant materials.
  • Work directly with subject matter experts to capture course-specific knowledge. Provide coaching and support post-learning delivery to identify further training opportunities.
  • Provide input into work plan creation, advising on the length of time required to design, develop and complete learning solutions.
  • Manage speaker pipeline and provide up skill training as needed.
  • Coordinate ongoing learning, talent and performance vendor relationships.
  • Research and suggest the best educational resources outside the company such as MOOCs, TED TALKS, certification courses, and university education.
  • Implement measurement and evaluation strategies to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of learning solutions on performance.
  • Recommend and coordinate updates to existing training material for continuous improvement of course content and program delivery techniques.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop and execute succession management strategies to meet current and future business needs.
  • Develop project schedules, track project milestones and delivery dates, and perform all necessary tasks required to successfully complete each project/program by the assigned goal date.
  • Maintain branding, layout and content standards across all media development.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology, Organization Development or related field is required; Master’s preferred.
  • SPHR, SHRM-SCP, ACC certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience with some knowledge of / exposure to one or more core areas such as talent management, performance management, change management, organization development, leadership development, or career development.
  • Deep understanding of adult learning and organization improvement principles.
  • Ability to understand business strategy and translate it into learning solutions.
  • Knowledge of training and development practices and methods including needs assessment and instruction design for instructor led, virtual, online, and blended training.
  • Knowledge of learning theories and principles including adult learning theory.
  • DISC, Insights, StrengthsFinder, Crucial Conversations facilitation experience preferred.
  • Practical experience with training and design software, such as Articulate, GoAnimate, StoryVine.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and transport up to 25 lbs. up/down stairs.
  • Ability to bend at waist and lift over shoulder.
  • Ability to bend at knees and lift over shoulder.
  • Ability to lift both arms to shoulder height.
