The Valet Living Home Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of accounting, budgeting and reporting for this rapidly expanding business.  Valet Living is the premier multi-family amenity service provider servicing 1.3 million apartment homes across 40 states.  Valet Living Home provides community resident amenities including concierge services, package management, home cleaning, pet walking and fitness via the Valet Living Home app.

The Valet Living Home Accountant will be responsible for leading the Valet Living Home accounting and finance function including:  client invoicing, revenue recognition, merchant reconciliation, active user reporting, weekly activity reporting, income statement management, budget and forecast development.  The successful candidate will work across several software systems including Oracle, Salesfoce.com, Workday and internally developed software.  This role has a high level of visibility across the organization and will require collaboration with leaders from multiple departments.

This individual will have a special combination of skills – detail oriented, ability to make recommendations with less than 100% of the data, quickly transition between tasks, prioritize deliverables while making all clients (internal and external) feel they are receiving the highest level of responsiveness.

Responsibilities/Duties                              

  • Provide weekly flash reporting to executive leadership team
  • Complete monthly financial statement preparation for presentation to the Board of Directors and executive leadership team
  • Disperse weekly labor reporting to the Operations team
  • Analyze data for trends and anomalies
  • Reconcile merchant account
  • Perform client rebate calculations
  • Revenue recognition for Valet Living Home contracts
  • Various month end responsibilities including journal entry preparation, monthly accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Establish processes and procedures for Fitness and Wellness client invoicing
  • Coordinate with the application development team to automate and enhance reporting and other related tasks
  • Facilitate action items with the Inside Sales, Operations and Client Support teams
  • Create and cultivate partnerships with external clients to facilitate an enhanced client service experience
  • Communicates with clients and partners regarding inquires and outstanding balances
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or similar field required
  • 2+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and relationship management skills and ability to collaborate with leaders across multiple departments
  • Experience using Salesforce and Oracle platforms is preferred

  • Critical thinker with strong quantitative skills to make recommendations with less than 100% of overall data
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable interacting at the C-suite level
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects with a high level of effectiveness Ability to be proactive, self-motivated, self-directed, flexible, adaptable and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to organize daily activities
  • Physical ability to lift to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to travel 10% of the time
